It appears to me
\nthat we arrive on
\nthe Planet as
\nadventurers from
\nParadise,<\/p>\n

where we have been
\nschooled in
\nthe Arts of seeing
\nthe Invisible, and
\nassembling
\nthe Implausible into
\neveryday miracles,
\nusing ordinary
\nMagic and
\na highly developed
\nPlay Ethic.<\/p>\n

Only to be
\ninstructed that
\nwe are here to
\ngrow up, to
\nadopt Work as
\nour Ethic, to
\nleave behind
\nthe Invisible,
\nthe Implausible,
\nthe Magical,<\/p>\n

even if the
\n40-hour workweek is
\nmortally wounding
\nthe Earth,
\nand causing us
\nto require
\n40-hour workweek
\ntherapists.<\/p>\n

That renegade prophet,
\nJesus of Nazareth,
\nwent about teaching
\nfree classes in
\nBecoming As a Child Again,<\/p>\n

but I guess
\nthey thought he was
\njoking.<\/p>\n

Lucky for us
\nthere are always
\na few who
\nare in
\non the joke.<\/p>\n
