Let\u2019s say
\nyou are walking
\na trail called Mystery,
\nnew to you,<\/p>\n

toward the sound
\nof rushing water.<\/p>\n

You come upon
\na stream,
\ncarelessly diving
\na hundred feet
\ninto a pool.<\/p>\n

Would you pick
\na wildflower,
\nperhaps a calypso bulbosa,
\na fairy slipper,
\nand try to measure
\nthe velocity of a waterfall,
\none plucked petal
\nat a time?<\/p>\n

And yet you measure
\nyour morning,
\nspent trifling
\nwith words
\non a page,<\/p>\n

falling far short
\nof the number of
\nindustrious retorts
\nfrom the nailgun
\nacross the street.<\/p>\n
