Meditation<\/strong><\/p>\n

When it comes to
\nMeditation,
\nI\u2019m a Neophyte of
\nthe rankest order.<\/p>\n

My half-lotus
\nis both legs
\non an ottoman,
\nleaned back
\non the couch,
\ncovered with
\nmy comfy comforter.<\/p>\n

This morning
\nmy head was a
\nspinning
\nBlack Hole,<\/p>\n

whirling thoughts
\nof a Life
\nonly half-lived,
\nall that early promise
\ndwindled away in a
\nspiraling downdraft of
\nlifelong Laziness and
\ncreeping age.<\/p>\n

Then a Messenger appeared,
\nas a Thought.<\/p>\n

\u201cPerish the Thought,\u201d
\n\u201cJust let it go.\u201d
\nOr so I\u2019d been told.<\/p>\n

But this Thought
\ncarried a Torch,
\na Light Beam:<\/p>\n

\u201cWait!\u201d
\nIt said,
\ngrinning from
\near-to-ear.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, let Us go,
\nbut before You do,
\nplease hold Us
\nfor a moment,
\npull Us close,
\nespecially
\nThe Worst of Us.
\nLook Us in the eyes.<\/p>\n

Give Us a hug.
\nThen let Us go.\u201d<\/p>\n
