Matchsticks<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is a stone
\nupon which
\nmany walls
\nhave been built,<\/p>\n

the millstone
\naround the neck
\nto which
\nJesus referred.<\/p>\n

Upon this stone
\nis inscribed
\na Law,
\ndesigned to be
\na shock collar,<\/p>\n

a Law
\nunequivocal
\nin its insistence
\nthat every wrong
\nmust be righted
\nwith
\nConsequences,<\/p>\n

a Law
\nmeant to be fueled
\nby Fear,<\/p>\n

and often wrapped
\naround the
\nhuman heart
\nwith the ligatures
\nat the heart
\nof religions.<\/p>\n

There is another Law
\nwritten in
\nthe Foundation of
\nAll That Is,<\/p>\n

transcending
\nwalls
\nand severing
\nmillstones
\nwith Joy that
\nshatters
\nConsequences
\ninto dust
\nbeneath the
\nbare feet
\nof exuberant escapees
\ngoing over
\nthe walls
\nof Fear,<\/p>\n

laughing,
\nas the Fear fades
\ninto the Light
\nof the
\nLaw of Love,<\/p>\n

which insists that
\nwhen it comes
\nto righting wrongs,<\/p>\n

Consequences
\nare little
\nmatchsticks,<\/p>\n

whose only
\ntask is to ignite
\nthe Light of Love,
\nthen fall away
\ninto
\nash.<\/p>\n
