Jeebus<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am sitting on
\nthe end of the couch,
\nwhere the pillows
\nhave been arranged
\nto resemble a
\nrecliner.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s my Holy of Holies.<\/p>\n

Only it\u2019s turning
\ninto quicksand, as
\nI sink into a
\ntar pit of pity
\nfor my underachieving
\nSelf.<\/p>\n

As I\u2019m about to
\ngo under,
\nthere\u2019s a bustling,
\nas my Imaginary Friend,
\nJeebus,
\nappears.<\/p>\n

(If you don\u2019t have
\nan Imaginary Friend
\nI can hook you up.)<\/p>\n

\u201cDude,\u201d he says,
\n\u201cthis is beyond pathos.
\nI\u2019m here for an
\nintervention.\u201d<\/p>\n

I\u2019m surprised he
\ndoesn\u2019t tire of
\nthis routine,
\nbut he\u2019s a gamer.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got something
\nfor you,\u201d and
\nhe pulls a little box
\nfrom his imaginary
\npocket.<\/p>\n

He pops it open
\nto reveal a tiny,
\ntwinkly obelisk.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is designed
\nto broadcast
\nMagic Moments,\u201d
\nhe announces
\nin a magic moment
\nsort of incantation.<\/p>\n

\u201cReally,\u201d I say,
\nrolling my eyes,
\n\u201cthat\u2019s a clich\u00e8.”<\/p>\n

\u201cI could make it
\nmore poetic, I
\nsuppose,\u201d he says,
\nrolling his eyes
\nright back at me.
\n\u201cDo you like
\n\u2018ephemera?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhatever,\u201d I sigh.<\/p>\n

\u201cHere\u2019s the thing,\u201d
\nhe says,
\n\u201cwhat\u2019s magical
\nabout it is,
\nfor one moment
\nyou can be
\nWho you want
\nto be, and,
\nif you like,
\nit will keep broadcasting,
\none Magic Moment
\nat-a-time.\u201d<\/p>\n

And then he was
\ngone,
\nbut the obelisk
\nremained.<\/p>\n

If I pay attention,
\nmaybe I can
\nget used to
\nliving,
\none Magic Moment
\nat-a-time.<\/p>\n

That Jeebus
\nis such an
\nephemera.<\/p>\n
