God\u2019s Will<\/strong><\/p>\n

I allowed my Self
\nto be put into
\nan invisible cage
\ncalled God\u2019s Will.<\/p>\n

I was told that
\nall I needed
\nto do was
\nexplore its
\ncontours and
\nI would understand
\nall I needed
\nto know.<\/p>\n

But mostly
\nI huddled
\nin place.<\/p>\n

It was invisible,
\nand I feared
\nto walk where
\nI couldn\u2019t see.<\/p>\n

But I could
\nread books,
\ntossed into The Cage
\nby kind passersby,<\/p>\n

I could see
\ndancers
\nin the distance,
\nhear rhythm and
\nblues being
\nthrummed by
\nwild fingers,
\nstandup comics
\nset up microphones
\nsomewhere just
\noutside The Cage, and
\nthere were Saturday
\nMovie Matinees
\nprojected on those
\ninvisible walls.<\/p>\n

One day I
\narose and started to
\nwalk,<\/p>\n

feeling for bars,
\nso I\u2019d know
\njust how far
\nGod wanted me
\nto go.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been
\na few years now,
\nand I just
\nkeep walking.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m beginning to
\nthink it may be
\nsafe<\/p>\n

to start running,
\nor even try
\nflying.<\/p>\n
