Forgive the Sermon<\/strong><\/p>\n

Forgive the sermon,
\nbut it\u2019s Sunday Morning and
\nold habits
\ndie hard.<\/p>\n

Open your Bibles, or
\nswipe your
\nscreens, to the
\nParable of The Prodigal.<\/p>\n

The Tale of
\nThe Selfish One
\nwho grabbed
\nwhat was his,
\nwhat was owed him,
\nwhat served him,<\/p>\n

then severed
\nthe ties to his
\nfather, benevolent
\nGiver of Gifts.<\/p>\n

In a far-off place
\nthe boy is soon
\nbereft,
\nbesmirched,
\nbesieged.<\/p>\n

He flees
\nhomeward,
\nhoping
\nthe judgment and
\nsentence for his
\nfoolishness
\nwill be bearable.<\/p>\n

He\u2019s prepared for the
\npresumption of
\npenitence.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile
\nthe Father is
\nhiring the
\ndancers, the
\nmusicians, the
\ncaterers.<\/p>\n

His glee is
\ngathering steam.<\/p>\n

Soon it will
\noverflow and
\nMerriment
\nwill laugh at the
\nmention of
\nmoderation.<\/p>\n

All he ever wanted
\nwas for
\nhis boy to
\ncome home.<\/p>\n

At last it\u2019s
