Remember
\nThe Magic Eye?<\/p>\n

Those random,
\nrepetitive,
\nopaque
\nartscapes of
\nseemingly meaningless
\ndabs and swatches,
\nstrokes and dribbles,
\nsplashes and splotches
\nand squiggles.<\/p>\n

But, if you
\nstared into them,
\nrelaxed and
\nstared again,
\nfocused and
\nunfocused and
\nrefocused
\non a point
\nor points,
\nperhaps beyond the
\ndizzying design,<\/p>\n

The randomness
\nwould resolve
\nand you\u2019d
\ndiscover a
\nthree-dimensional
\nspace
\nwhere you\u2019d
\nfind<\/p>\n

an ocean of
\nsea creatures,
\nor a horse,
\nor a bicycle,
\nor the upturned
\nface of
\na child.<\/p>\n

It might take
\nseconds and
\na single attempt,
\nor many minutes
\nand multiple tries.<\/p>\n

But, if you didn\u2019t
\ngive up,
\nthe inner dimensions
\nwould open.<\/p>\n

Today I turn
\nseventy-two.
\nIt\u2019s taken awhile,
\nbut I think
\nI\u2019m beginning
\nto spy,
\nwith some
\nmagical eye,
\nif just for
\na moment
\nor two,<\/p>\n

the divine
\ndimensions
\nin me and
\nin you.<\/p>\n
