\ntreadmills,
\npaeans to the
\nPuritan Work Ethic,
\nCodes of Conduct and
\ncorporate
\nVision Statements;
\nentire religions,
\nin fact.<\/p>\n

On the other side
\nof the door are
\nsongs that come
\nto the singer
\nin a dream,
\nstories that
\ncome through
\nthe teller
\nand wrap
\nthe listener
\nin bearhugs of
\nfeelings so
\nfierce
\nthey contain
\ndeaths and
\nresurrections,
\npictures so
\nvivid
\nthey rebuild
\nyour eyes
\nfrom scratch.<\/p>\n

Can we meet
\non the other side
\nof that door?<\/p>\n

I call it
\nThe Mystery.
\nI\u2019d love
\nto hear
\nwhat
\nyou call it.<\/p>\n
